Flewelling Cattle Co
Flewelling Cattle Co is a family-owned and operated purebred Polled Hereford operation based near Bowden, Alberta, about 45 minutes north of Calgary. With over 30 years of experience, the operation involves three generations of the Flewelling family—Craig and Doreen, Curtis and Erin, and their children, Nathan and Avery.
The farm originated from Kilmorlie Farms, established in 1978, and has since focused on producing elite genetics built on strong maternal lines. The philosophy at FCC is quality over quantity: only around 30 of their best females are bred each year, and every animal is expected to perform at a high level both phenotypically and reproductively.
Flewelling Cattle Co maintains a diverse lineup of herd sires, including bulls like Expedition 101B, Benchmark 632G, Redzone 1K, and Levi 18L. These sires are chosen for their structural integrity, performance, and polled traits. Semen is available for global distribution, and their genetics are used in breeding programs worldwide.
FCC also offers embryos from some of their most proven donor females, such as NCX Miss SY Phillippa 600P, Natasha 11C, Avery Orchid Lady, and Betty 24F. These donors are matched with top sires to create high-value embryo packages for the commercial and purebred markets.
The farm actively competes in major shows across Canada. In 2024, they earned titles like Reserve Heifer Calf Champion and Premier Breeder at the Alberta Hereford Showcase. Past years have included multiple championships and consistent recognition in the show ring, reflecting the strength and consistency of their breeding program.
FCC sells bulls by private treaty. All sale bulls are halter-broken, semen-tested, vet-inspected, and guaranteed. They’re raised on strong rations and forage to ensure longevity and structural soundness. In addition to livestock sales, the Flewellings provide services such as ring assistance, consulting, order buying, and livestock insurance through Craig Flewelling.
Flewelling Cattle Co has strong international reach, with genetics sold across Canada, the U.S., Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and South America.
