At Mowi, we work with the ocean to produce nutritious, delicious and supreme-quality seafood. We fulfill one fifth of global demand for farm-raised Atlantic salmon and are constantly driven by innovation and the desire to achieve the highest standards of sustainability. In Canada, we operate salmon farms on the coast of beautiful British Columbia and Vancouver Island, where 600 people produce 45,000 tonnes of sustainable farm-raised Atlantic salmon each year. Our salmon are four-star certified to the Global Aquaculture Alliance Best Aquaculture Practices and we are the first company in North America to have a farm certified to the Aquaculture Stewardship Council salmon standard. The many phases of Mowi’s fish farming business in British Columbia are located in or near a number of coastal communities.
